SEI’s De-Energized Tap Changers (DETC) are designed to meet a wide range of applications featuring market-proven reliability. The voltage classes/ratings available range from 15 to 345kV and up to 2000A per contact with insulation levels of up to 1050 kV BIL. Our DETCs have been tested to meet and exceed IEEE and IEC standards. DETCs are manufactured in our Brazil factory.
DETC models range from 2 up to 20 positions ideal for compact transformers where space is critical. Utilization of SEI’s DETCs will result in a more optimized internal transformer design due to its array of available configurations. The tap changer can be installed either between the windings or between the transformer core and tank cover, resulting in reductions of electrical distances.
The available configurations for DETCs are:
- two columns and three contact groups;
- three columns and three contact groups;
- one column and three contact groups;
- special projects are also available to meet specific requirements.
Easy Installation
The DETC is extremely easy to install featuring a double gasket on the tank connection eliminating the possibility for leakages and maintaining the integrity of the transformer.
The provision of its own flange included in the operating mechanism set avoids fitting problems and its installation close to the active part reduces overall time and resources, as it does not require any specific tool or special supports.
Extras
There are several optional accessories that contribute even more to the optimization of the internal transformer design by reducing dimensions while maintaining insulating requirements. Our DETCs can be equipped with equipotential shields between contacts, between contacts groups or between contacts and the ground connection to reduce the effect of electric fields. They also improve efficiency in the installation of the active part by eliminating conductor junctions between coil and tap changer contacts reducing the number of crimpers, the manual insulation of the cables and the cable connection itself since the connection can be made with the conductor directly from the winding.
